Donations to the GPU Users Group Inc's General Fund are used for several purposes. Primarialy these funds are used to purchase quickly needed items for SETI at Home such as replacement hard drives, GPU's and similar. The GPUUG also utilizes donations to our General Fund to pay for things such as our domain name renewals and upkeep costs.

This fundraiser is for two identical servers that will assume the following roles once in place.

One of the new servers will become the new "Bruno", i.e. the upload server and BOINC server backend master node.  It will also run the backend functions that benefit from being close to the result files, e.g. the validators.

The second server will become the new "Vader" and function as a download server as well as running various ancillary backend functions.   Any excess capacity will be used to run post/pre ntpckr/rfi functions (e.g RFI studies, big array/image plotting with IDL, etc).

These two servers will have a huge impact on the project's ability to serve and collect data from us folks at home, and I know I'm looking forward to that!
