Hello Everyone:

Here's a bit of news:

1. As of today, SETI at Home has everything they need on hand to implement and test the 45 drive JBOD our donors have provided SETI.  They have on hand the JBOD and 24 2TB drives to get the machine up and testing.  I've no idea how long it will take the SETI at Home team to shake the JBOD out like they like it, but the good news is it will soon be up and running to make things smoother at SETI. Dec 14, 2011 Update

Hello Everyone:

Here's a few quick updates:

1. We began taking Paypal direct donations for SETI at Home around 48 hours ago and since that time, we have collected 45 donations for a total of $845 for SETI at Home.  We're extremely proud of this response from our generous donors. Read more »

GPUUG.org adds i18n default languages and translation options

As an international organization, the GPUUG is fortunate enough to have many members from around the globe supporting its operations.  In an effort to more effectively serve its global population, two new language translation options have been added to the web site, which you can see on the left sidebar. 12-08-2011 Update

Hello Everyone:

We have ordered (6) 3 Terabyte 7200rpm 64MB Seagate hard drives for SETI at Home.  This shipment should arrive at the SETI at Home offices on 12/14/2011. These drives will supplement their existing stock of Astropulse data transportation drives and will ultimately help the project operate more efficiently.

Here's our weekend update with a bit of news:

1. We've created a new easy to use feature on our website where members can donate hardware directly to SETI at Home. An added benefit of donating through the GPU Users Group Inc. is that in accordance with US tax law, hardware donations to us are tax deductible on your federal income taxes. We will generate a receipt to you and yours via email upon receipt of said hardware which you may use as documentation on your taxes. Read more »
